It’s the week of UIL! Everything we’ve been working towards since July has led to this week! We are so excited to share your work with the audience and judges on Tuesday. Great job on Friday night. I think it was one of your most solid runs of the show yet. I hope you had fun performing with the GHS band as well!

Communication/Updates: For parent communication, please sign up for notifications through Parent Square. Most of our short-form communication (arrivals/departures/updates) will be through Parent Square which is connected to Skyward. Once the game is over, a notification will be sent out. Please be at the school to pick up your student at least 20 minutes after arrival time. Please do not park in the bus lane for pick-up after rehearsals or events.

Veterans Day Concert

Our Veteran’s Day Concert is coming up in 3 weeks! We are excited to perform for and honor our military veterans. Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities and a link to submit pictures for the pre-concert slideshow

Habits of a Successful Musician: We are now in Concert Season. If you have not purchased your copy of Habits, please do so at this link. While the book can be found on Amazon and other sites, many students pursued that last year only to receive the incorrect instrument book. Please purchase directly from the GIA Publications website to ensure you receive the correct instrument book.

Calling all high school band and color guard students! You are all invited to participate in SOSA Crew to experience a UTSA football game day along side The Spirit of San Antonio Marching Band! Here’s the details https://www.utsabands.org/sosacrew

A small reception will follow the Veteran’s Day Concert. Please be on the lookout for a sign-up genius for dessert donations. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.

Parents (especially freshman parents), you are invited to join us at every event! Come join us and see firsthand what all it takes to run this band. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other band parents! As always, call or text me directly if you need anything.

¡Es la semana de UIL! ¡Todo por lo que hemos estado trabajando desde julio nos ha llevado a esta semana! Estamos muy emocionados de compartir su trabajo con la audiencia y los jueces el martes. Concierto del Día de los Veteranos

¡Nuestro Concierto del Día de los Veteranos se realizará en 3 semanas! Estamos emocionados de actuar para honrar a nuestros veteranos militares. Esté atento a las oportunidades de voluntariado y a un enlace para enviar fotografías para la presentación de diapositivas previa al concierto.

Comunicación/Actualizaciones: Para comunicarse con los padres, regístrese para recibir notificaciones a través de Parent Square. La mayoría de nuestras comunicaciones breves (llegadas/salidas/actualizaciones) se realizan a través de Parent Square, que está conectado a Skyward. Una vez que finalice el juego, se enviará una notificación. Esté en la escuela para recoger a su estudiante al menos 20 minutos después de la hora de llegada. No se estacione en el carril del autobús para recogerlo después de los ensayos o eventos.
