Hello EVPB Family!
What a fantastic season! The students had a GREAT PERFORMANCE on Saturday at USBands, placing 4th in their class, 10th overall in prelims, AND got FIRST PLACE in music! We are so proud of the hard work and dedication that our students have to each other and the program.
I’d like to take a moment to thank a few people.
- Parents: Thank you for supporting your child in music education and encouraging them throughout the season. Thank you for scheduling your days around transportation to and from events, rehearsals, and games. Thank you for allowing us to teach your students day in and day out. You supporting our program and our kids is one of the main reasons this season was so successful. From driving your child to early morning sectionals to talking them out of frustration when grades, rehearsals, relationships get hard. Thank. You.
- Volunteers: I said it on Saturday, and I’ll say it again here. Thank you for making the director’s job easy. You are the reason we get to do our job - TEACH THE KIDS. The countless hours of planning events, running to get food, and taking care of our students when they need something that you do means we have freedom to teach. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and your passion for making this a great year for our kids. I hope I don’t miss anybody, but here is a list of those volunteers. If you see any of them, please thank them for what they do.
- Students: I am grateful for you. The seasons had its ups and downs, times got tough, we all got frustrated, but in the end you put a great product out there for our community. YOU are the reason that your staff shows up, even when we don’t want to, every day. You brighten our days and make this J-O-B one worth doing. I cannot thank you enough for your hard work, and I cannot wait to see what you all do during concert season.

Upon picking up your child from events, please either park in the lot in front of the school OR in the car rider pick-up lane. DO NOT use the bus lane, as we need to keep it clear for our buses AND for students to transport instruments safely from the truck to the band room.
** Students may be picked up at games/competitions by a parent. When checking a student out, a parent or legal guardian, listed on skyward, MUST be the one to pick up the child. Communication and approval of this type must be done at minimum 24 hours in advance. The only situations we allow for early checkout from performances are if the student/family have an early arrival time for a UIL event. Other situations are taken on a case-by-case basis. Please email a director with questions.

Below are our concert/parades dates for the year. Please mark these on your calendar. Students MUST attend all concerts/parades and concert rehearsals. Please check the calendar for marching contests and football dates, as those are also mandatory.

¡Hola, familia de EVPB!
¡Qué temporada tan fantástica! Los alumnos tuvieron una GRAN PRESENTACIÓN el sábado en USBands, quedando en 4.º lugar en su categoría, 10.º en la general de las preliminares, ¡Y obtuvieron el PRIMER LUGAR en música! Estamos muy orgullosos del esfuerzo y la dedicación que nuestros alumnos demuestran entre sí y con el programa.
Quisiera aprovechar este momento para agradecer a algunas personas.
- Padres: Gracias por apoyar la educación musical de sus hijos y animarlos durante toda la temporada. Gracias por organizar sus días en función del transporte a eventos, ensayos y partidos. Gracias por permitirnos enseñar a sus hijos día tras día. Su apoyo a nuestro programa y a nuestros niños es una de las principales razones del éxito de esta temporada. Desde llevar a sus hijos a los ensayos matutinos hasta consolarlos cuando las calificaciones, los ensayos o las relaciones se complican. Gracias.
- Voluntarios: Lo dije el sábado y lo repito aquí. Gracias por facilitarnos tanto el trabajo. Ustedes son la razón por la que podemos dedicarnos a nuestra labor: ENSEÑAR A LOS NIÑOS. Las incontables horas que dedican a planificar eventos, a buscar comida y a cuidar de nuestros alumnos cuando lo necesitan nos permiten tener la libertad de enseñar. Muchísimas gracias por todo su esfuerzo y su pasión para que este sea un gran año para nuestros niños. Espero no olvidarme de nadie, pero aqui esta una lista de los voluntarios Si ves a alguno de ellos, por favor agradéceles lo que hacen.
- Estudiantes: Les estoy muy agradecido. La temporada tuvo sus altibajos, hubo momentos difíciles, todos nos frustramos, pero al final lograron ofrecer un excelente producto a nuestra comunidad. Ustedes son la razón por la que su equipo viene a trabajar, incluso cuando no queremos, todos los días. Nos alegran el día y hacen que este trabajo valga la pena. Les agradezco enormemente su arduo trabajo y estoy ansioso por ver lo que harán durante la temporada de conciertos.

Encuentro con la banda de acero
¿Te interesa algo diferente a las bandas tradicionales y además quieres divertirte? Acompáñanos el 18 de noviembre, de 4:30 a 5 p.m., para conocer la banda de steel drums “Metal Shop”. ¡Abierto a todos los miembros de la banda!

Descargar y irse a casa.
Al recoger a su hijo/a de los eventos, por favor, estacione en el estacionamiento frente a la escuela o en el carril reservado para recoger a los pasajeros en automóvil. NO use el carril del autobús, ya que debemos mantenerlo despejado para que nuestros autobuses y los estudiantes transporten sus instrumentos de forma segura desde el camión hasta la sala de la banda.
** Los padres pueden recoger a los estudiantes en los juegos/competencias. Al retirar a un estudiante, es imprescindible que el padre, madre o tutor legal, que figura en Skyward, lo recoja. La comunicación y aprobación de este tipo debe realizarse con al menos 24 horas de anticipación. Sólo permitimos la salida anticipada de las funciones si el estudiante o su familia llega temprano a un evento de la UIL. Se analizan otras situaciones caso por caso. Si tiene alguna pregunta, envíe un correo electrónico al director.
Concierto/Fechas importantes
A continuación se muestran las fechas de nuestros conciertos/desfiles del año. Por favor, anótenlas en su calendario. Los estudiantes DEBEN asistir a todos los conciertos/desfiles y ensayos de conciertos. Por favor, consulten el calendario para conocer las fechas de los concursos de marcha y fútbol, ya que también son obligatorios.
