EVPB Week of 26/02/15
Hello EVPB Family!
We have had a great week of events! Our Pop’s Concert this past Tuesday was well attended and every ensemble was highly complimented by many. Thank you for your support of our kids!
Additionally, while the directors were at the annual Texas Music Educators Association conference, our very own Alex Guerra was sitting in the 5A All-State band! Their performance on Saturday was fantastic! We can’t wait to see more and more of our students participating in this special event in the future.

Surveys for Students
We have TWO surveys for students to complete. We ask that ONLY STUDENTS complete these surveys.
Solo and Ensemble - ALL STUDENTS must complete this form by this Wednesday - February 18 at 4 pm.
Middle School Social
We have a middle school social coming up this Saturday! The event will be from 1 to 3. High school students, while not required, are strongly encouraged to attend, as they will be able to meet and talk with rising freshmen. This kind of events are crucial to our culture and success as a program. Please encourage your students to attend.
Sectionals This Week
Sectionals are back to our abbreviated – 4 day - schedule this week. Please check you appropriate Google Classroom UIL Calendar for specifics.
Band Fees
Please make sure you are paying your band fees. We have, currently, over $20,000 in outstanding band fees. Please login to your BoosterHub account and check on invoices. If you have any questions, please feel free to message me, see contact information at the end of this newsletter

Upon picking up your child from events, please either park in the lot in front of the school OR in the car rider pick-up lane. DO NOT use the bus lane, as we need to keep it clear for our buses AND for students to transport instruments safely from the truck to the band room.

Below are our concert/parades dates for the year. Please mark these on your calendar. Students MUST attend all concerts/parades and concert rehearsals. Please check the calendar for marching contests and football dates, as those are also mandatory.

¡Hola, familia de EVPB!
¡Tuvimos una semana llena de eventos! Nuestro Concierto Pop del martes pasado tuvo una gran asistencia y todos los conjuntos recibieron elogios de muchos. ¡Gracias por su apoyo a nuestros niños!
Además, mientras los directores asistían a la conferencia anual de la Asociación de Educadores Musicales de Texas, nuestro propio Alex Guerra formó parte de la banda estatal 5A. ¡Su actuación del sábado fue fantástica! Estamos ansiosos por ver a más estudiantes participando en este evento especial en el futuro.

Encuestas para estudiantes
Tenemos dos encuestas para que los estudiantes las completen. Solicitamos que SOLO LOS ESTUDIANTES las completen.
Solo and Ensemble - TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES deben completar este formulario antes de este miércoles 18 de febrero a las 4 p.m.
Fiesta de secundaria
¡Este sábado tendremos una fiesta de secundaria! El evento se llevará a cabo de 1 a 3. Si bien no es obligatorio, se recomienda encarecidamente la asistencia de los estudiantes de preparatoria, ya que podrán conocer y conversar con los estudiantes de primer año. Este tipo de eventos son cruciales para nuestra cultura y el éxito del programa. Por favor, animen a sus estudiantes a asistir.
Prácticas de la Semana
Los seccionales regresan a nuestro horario abreviado de 4 días esta semana. Para más detalles, consulte el calendario UIL de Google Classroom correspondiente.
Cuotas de la banda
Por favor, asegúrense de pagar las cuotas de la banda. Actualmente, tenemos más de $20,000 en cuotas pendientes. Inicien sesión en su cuenta de BoosterHub y revisen las facturas. Si tienen alguna pregunta, por favor avísenme, miren la información de contacto por debajo.

Al recoger a su hijo/a de los eventos, por favor, estacione en el estacionamiento frente a la escuela o en el carril reservado para recoger a los pasajeros en automóvil. NO use el carril del autobús, ya que debemos mantenerlo despejado para que nuestros autobuses y los estudiantes transporten sus instrumentos de forma segura desde el camión hasta la sala de la banda.
Concierto/Fechas importantes
A continuación se muestran las fechas de nuestros conciertos/desfiles del año. Por favor, anótenlas en su calendario. Los estudiantes DEBEN asistir a todos los conciertos/desfiles y ensayos de conciertos. Por favor, consulten el calendario para conocer las fechas de los concursos de marcha y fútbol, ya que también son obligatorios.
