EVPB Week of 26/08/09
Hello EVPB Family!
2026 EVPB Camp is officially over! While it is bittersweet, the staff is very proud of how far the students have come in a short amount of time. We also want to thank all of the parents who offered their help during our camp. Whether you were volunteering under the tent, outside with the students, or sending ice pops for our students, we can’t do this without you!
We encourage families to continue to encourage their students to get outside when possible and continue to practice what they learned at camp. If you are not following, join us on Instagram to see what the students are up to! Here are important upcoming dates and times:

Lessons
Lessons are a great way for your student to become the best musician they can. This can, in turn, do a lot for the band as well! Lessons teach more than music! They teach things like perseverance, grit, cooperation, and time-management (to name a few). Additionally, students that have taken privately are often those that advance to area and state rounds for auditions, consistently make 1s and UIL Solo and Ensemble, and are in the top ensembles. If you would like to take private lessons, please complete this form.

SportsYou
All STUDENTS must join our SportsYou group. This group is for students only. Parents will receive information via ParentSquare.

BoosterHub/Fundraiser
Students, please ensure you have the BoosterHub app. Please see the Booster Newsletter below with details on how to sign up for the app. We will start our fundraiser soon and we use this platform to raise money for our program. We will begin this fundraiser on Monday, August 17.

PARENT BOOSTER NEWS
Parents/Guardians:
THANK YOU, EVPB FAMILIES & COMMUNITY!
We cannot say thank you enough for the incredible support our students received during Summer Band! Your generous donations of popsicles and watermelons helped keep our students cool and gave them something to look forward to during some very hot rehearsal days.
A huge thank you also goes to all of the volunteers who came out to help! From setting up tents and filling water coolers to washing cooling towels, handing out popsicles, and cutting and serving A LOT of watermelon, you helped make everything run smoothly. We even had an amazing group of band dads take over on Friday!
We were also incredibly fortunate to have support from our community. Celebration Church came out to serve popsicle fruit bars to our students, and La Vaquerita Creamery generously donated and served paletas to the entire band. What a fun way to help our kids cool down!
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, served our students, or simply asked, “What else do you need?” It truly takes a village to support our band, and ours showed up in a BIG way during Summer Band!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE NOW OPEN!
Football season is almost here, which means there are lots of opportunities to get involved! Volunteer sign-ups are now available in BoosterHub for chaperoning, pit crew, our flag fundraiser, and concessions.
These are fantastic opportunities to support the band, meet fellow band parents, and make some pretty amazing memories with your child along the way. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or this is your very first year, we'd love to have you join us. No experience is necessary—we'll show you what to do!
- Chaperoning: Chaperones travel with the band and help keep our students safe, organized, hydrated, fed, and where they need to be throughout games and competitions. Chaperones ride the buses, assist with water, snacks, and accompany students throughout the event. New to chaperoning? Please don't let that stop you! Experienced chaperones will be there to help you learn the ropes.
- Pit Crew: Pit Crew helps get the band's sound equipment—and later in the season, props—onto and off the field for performances. You'll help push equipment, get everything into position, and hook up equipment when needed. Don't worry, it's not hard, and experienced volunteers will show you what to do! One of the best perks? You get an incredible sideline view of the band's performance.
- Flag Fundraiser: Flag Fundraiser volunteers help deliver and place flags in subscribers' yards for select flag holidays throughout the year. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to volunteer together while supporting one of our band's important fundraisers. Routes are divided among volunteers, so the more families who help, the easier the job is for everyone.
- Concessions: Concessions is a fun, fast-paced way to earn money for the band! This season, EVPB is responsible for helping run the concession stand during two GHS football games. We need 14 volunteers for one game and 10 for the other. The band earns money based on the number of volunteers we provide—and if we have enough volunteers to staff the stand ourselves, EVPB receives all of the profits for that night! If we don't fill all of our spots, another booster organization helps and the profits are split. This is one of those volunteer jobs where every person who signs up directly helps us raise more money for our students.

BOOSTER HUB App
We will communicate mostly through the BoosterHub App and email for reminders on how we can help support our band students in events, games, competitions, etc. All freshman parents must register for the BoosterHub app. A note on registering (PLEASE READ IMPORTANT DETAILS.)
- Families should register ONE account, but MUST include separate student and parent information (name and email address).
- Parents and students should use a non-GISD email address that they check regularly, as this is one of the ways we communicate with families.

VOLUNTEERING: Parents if you are volunteering at any band event this upcoming year, please make sure you complete the required GISD background check at: https://www.georgetownisd.org/community/mentors-volunteers/volunteer. Once you are approved, please forward a copy of that email to our Volunteer Coordinator, Curtis Myles at evpbvolunteer@gmail.com.

¡Hola familia de EVPB!
¡El campamento EVPB 2026 ha concluido oficialmente! Aunque nos invade un sentimiento agridulce, el equipo está muy orgulloso de los grandes avances que han logrado los estudiantes en tan poco tiempo. También queremos agradecer a todos los padres que ofrecieron su ayuda durante el campamento. Ya fuera colaborando bajo la carpa, acompañando a los estudiantes en el exterior o enviando polos de hielo para ellos, ¡no podríamos haberlo logrado sin ustedes!
Animamos a las familias a seguir motivando a los alumnos para que salgan al aire libre siempre que sea posible y continúen practicando lo aprendido en el campamento. Las clases particulares son una excelente manera de que su estudiante alcance su máximo potencial como músico. ¡Esto, a su vez, beneficia enormemente a la banda! Las clases enseñan mucho más que música: fomentan valores y habilidades como la perseverancia, la tenacidad, la cooperación y la gestión del tiempo, por mencionar algunos ejemplos. Además, los estudiantes que reciben clases particulares suelen ser quienes avanzan a las fases de área y estatal en las audiciones, obtienen sistemáticamente la calificación más alta (nivel 1) en los concursos de solistas y ensambles de la UIL, y forman parte de los grupos musicales más destacados. BoosterHub/Recaudacion

Padres y tutores:
¡GRACIAS, FAMILIAS Y COMUNIDAD DE EVPB!
¡No tenemos palabras suficientes para agradecer el increíble apoyo que recibieron nuestros estudiantes durante la banda de verano! Sus generosas donaciones de helados y sandías ayudaron a mantener frescos a los alumnos y les brindaron un detalle especial que esperaban con ilusión durante los días de ensayo de mucho calor.
¡También queremos expresar un enorme agradecimiento a todos los voluntarios que acudieron a ayudar! Desde montar carpas y llenar los dispensadores de agua hasta lavar toallas refrescantes, repartir helados y cortar y servir muchísima sandía, ustedes ayudaron a que todo funcionara a la perfección. ¡Incluso contamos con un grupo fantástico de padres de la banda que se encargó de todo el viernes!
Además, tuvimos la gran fortuna de contar con el apoyo de nuestra comunidad. La iglesia Celebration Church vino a repartir helados de fruta a nuestros estudiantes, y La Vaquerita Creamery donó y sirvió generosamente paletas a toda la banda. ¡Qué manera tan divertida de ayudar a nuestros chicos a refrescarse!
Gracias a todos los que donaron, se ofrecieron como voluntarios, atendieron a nuestros estudiantes o simplemente preguntaron: «¿Qué más necesitan?». Realmente hace falta toda una comunidad para apoyar a nuestra banda, ¡y la nuestra respondió de manera extraordinaria durante la banda de verano!

¡La temporada de fútbol americano está a la vuelta de la esquina, lo que significa que hay muchas oportunidades para participar! Ya están abiertas las inscripciones de voluntarios en BoosterHub para tareas de acompañamiento, el equipo de apoyo en pista (*pit crew*), nuestra recaudación de fondos con banderas y el puesto de venta de alimentos y bebidas.
Son oportunidades fantásticas para apoyar a la banda, conocer a otros padres y crear recuerdos inolvidables junto a tu hijo. Tanto si ya tienes experiencia como voluntario como si es tu primer año, nos encantaría contar contigo. No se requiere experiencia previa: ¡nosotros te enseñaremos qué hacer!
- Los Acompañantes (Chaperones): Los acompañantes viajan con la banda y ayudan a mantener a nuestros estudiantes seguros, organizados, hidratados y bien alimentados, asegurándose de que estén donde deben estar durante los partidos y las competiciones. Viajan en los autobuses, ayudan con el agua y los refrigerios, y acompañan a los estudiantes a lo largo del evento. ¿Es tu primera vez como acompañante? ¡Que eso no te detenga! Los acompañantes con experiencia estarán allí para ayudarte a aprender cómo funciona todo.
- El equipo de apoyo (Pit Crew): El equipo de apoyo (conocido como *Pit Crew*) ayuda a transportar el equipo de sonido de la banda —y, más adelante en la temporada, la utilería— dentro y fuera del campo para las presentaciones en los juegos y competencias. Ayudarás a empujar el equipo, colocarlo en su sitio y realizar las conexiones necesarias. ¡No te preocupes, no es difícil y los voluntarios con experiencia te enseñarán qué hacer! ¿Una de las mejores ventajas? Disfrutarás de una vista increíble de la actuación de la banda desde el borde del campo.
- Recaudación de fondos con banderas: Los voluntarios de la campaña de recaudación de fondos con banderas ayudan a repartir y colocar banderas en los jardines de los suscriptores en fechas festivas seleccionadas a lo largo del año. Es una excelente oportunidad para que padres y estudiantes colaboren como voluntarios y, al mismo tiempo, apoyen una de las iniciativas clave de recaudación de fondos de nuestra banda. Las rutas se distribuyen entre los voluntarios, por lo que, cuantas más familias participen, más fácil será la tarea para todos.
- Puestos de comida (consessions): ¡Los puestos de comida es una forma divertida y rápida de ganar dinero para la banda! Esta temporada, EVPB es responsable de ayudar a administrar el puesto de comida durante dos partidos de fútbol de GHS. Necesitamos 14 voluntarios para un juego y 10 para el otro. La banda gana dinero según la cantidad de voluntarios que proporcionamos, y si tenemos suficientes voluntarios para ocupar el puesto nosotros mismos, ¡EVPB recibe todas las ganancias de esa noche! Si no llenamos todas nuestras plazas, otra organización de refuerzo ayuda y las ganancias se dividen. Este es uno de esos trabajos voluntarios donde cada persona que se inscribe directamente nos ayuda a recaudar más dinero para nuestros estudiantes.
