UIL Region Marching Assessment
The 2026 UIL Region 26 - 6A Marching Assessment is this Tuesday. The event is at Kelley Reeves athletic complex in Round Rock. This event is similar to our UIL Concert and Sight Reading that takes place in April. Bands receive ratings instead of placements. The best score to receive from the evening is a 1 from all 3 judges. In order to advance to the Area competition round, a band must get an overall rating of a 1 (either a 1 1 1 or a 1 1 2). Come out this Tuesday and support the East View Patriot Band! The link for tickets can be found here.
Failure to attend the rehearsal before the performance will result in the student not performing. If your student has a conflict, please contact a band director and we will find a resolution with their club/sport sponsor (this may mean splitting time between the two events).
Uniform Washing
Uniforms must be returned on Monday!! Please ensure the marching uniform is returned, clean, and returned to its proper place in the uniform before the beginning of your band class OR rehearsal (if you don’t have class Monday).
Spirit/Sponsor Shirts
Students will receive their spirit/sponsor shirt this Monday and Tuesday during class.
Fall Auditions/Exams
Although semester exams remain several weeks away, we would like to share an overview of our audition and assessment process. Each semester, students in the EVPB re-audition for ensemble placements, allowing placements to reflect each student's continued growth and preparation. Fall audition requirements include the first phrase of two TMEA audition etudes, which students will record and submit via Google Classroom. The submission window opens during Thanksgiving break and closes on the first day of fall semester exams. Detailed guidelines and instructions will be published by November 6th.
Percussion in-person auditions will take place on Tuesday, November 17th. Percussion students will perform their two etudes as well as a sight-reading. Audition material will be released on October 26.

Evaluación regional de bandas de marcha (UIL)
La evaluación de bandas de marcha (Marching Assessment) de la Región 26 - 6A de la UIL para el año 2026 se llevará a cabo este martes. El evento tendrá lugar en el complejo deportivo Kelley Reeves, en Round Rock. Esta actividad es similar a la evaluación de conciertos y lectura a primera vista (Concert and Sight Reading) de la UIL que se realiza en abril. Las bandas reciben calificaciones en lugar de puestos de clasificación. La mejor calificación posible es obtener un «1» de cada uno de los tres jueces. Para avanzar a la etapa de competencia de área (Area competition), una banda debe obtener una calificación general de «1» (ya sea una combinación de 1-1-1 o 1-1-2). ¡Asistan este martes y apoyen a la banda «East View Patriot Band»! El enlace para las entradas se puede encontrar aquí.
La inasistencia al ensayo previo a la presentación tendrá como consecuencia que el estudiante no participe en la misma. Si su hijo(a) tiene un conflicto de horario, por favor comuníquese con un director de la banda; buscaremos una solución junto con el responsable de la otra actividad (club o deporte) en la que participe (lo cual podría implicar dividir el tiempo entre ambos eventos).
Lavado de uniformes
¡¡Los uniformes deben devolverse el lunes!! Por favor, asegúrate de que el uniforme de desfile esté limpio y colocado en su lugar correspondiente antes del comienzo de tu clase de banda O de tu ensayo (si no tienes clase el lunes).
Camisetas de espíritu escolar
Los estudiantes recibirán su camiseta de espíritu escolar o de patrocinador este lunes y martes durante la clase.
Audiciones/Exámenes de otoño
Aunque todavía faltan varias semanas para los exámenes semestrales, queremos ofrecerles una visión general de nuestro proceso de audición y evaluación. Cada semestre, los estudiantes de EVPB realizan nuevas audiciones para determinar su ubicación en los ensambles, lo que permite que dichas asignaciones reflejen el crecimiento y la preparación continuos de cada alumno. Los requisitos para la audición de otoño incluyen la interpretación de la primera frase de dos estudios de audición de la TMEA; los estudiantes deberán grabar y enviar estas piezas a través de Google Classroom. El plazo de entrega se abrirá durante las vacaciones de Acción de Gracias y finalizará el primer día de los exámenes del semestre de otoño. Las directrices e instrucciones detalladas se publicarán a más tardar el 6 de noviembre.
Las audiciones presenciales de percusión se llevarán a cabo el martes 17 de noviembre. Los estudiantes de percusión interpretarán sus dos estudios, así como una pieza de lectura a primera vista. El material para la audición se publicará el 26 de octubre.
